WINNER Junior League of Birmingham
The Junior League of Birmingham is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. As one of the largest volunteer service organizations in Alabama, the Junior League of Birmingham has over 1000 active volunteers who contribute more than 40,000 hours of service annually. Its purpose is improving the lives of women and children by working with community agencies to deliver services and assistance to those in need. To ensure consistency and a concentrated level of service, Junior League of Birmingham community placements focus on four areas (Education, Finacial Stability, Health, Safety and Crisis Intervention) and address one or more of the critical issues identified within education, health, financial stability, safety and crisis intervention. WINNER Ed Fields
Ed Fields: is vice president of association management services for Projects Unlimited, Inc . A transplant from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Ed received his undergraduate degree in marketing from Alabama State University and earned his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Alabama’s prestigious Manderson School of Business. In 2007, Ed, A former chamber of commerce executive, completed his Institute of Management (IOM) designation, a nonprofit management certification, from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Ed currently serves as president for Elizabeth Conwell Schlarb Foundation for Women Entrepreneurs board of directors. Ed also serves as a mentor for the Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center as well as the COMPASS project for African American males at Center Street Middle School in Birmingham. In 2003, Ed was named Minority Business Advocate of the Year by the City of Birmingham’s Minority Business Opportunity Committee. In 2004, Ed was recognized by the Birmingham’s Business Journal as one of the Birmingham Business community’s “Top 40 under40.” Professional affiliations include the Birmingham Change Fund, Birmingham Urban League Young Professional s, Nonprofit Resources Center of Alabama and the Birmingham Business Alliance.

WINNER Gerald Johnson
Gerald Johnson: Is the Vice President of the Birmingham Division at Alabama Power Company. This division consists of Jefferson and Shelby counties serves over 400,000 customers with annual revenues exceeding $1 billion. Gerald is responsible for the day to day management operations for customer service and external affairs. He also works closely with the functional operations of distribution, transmission, sales, and marketing in the Birmingham Division. Gerald has been employed by the Southern Company since 1981. In 2001, he joined the Alabama Power staff. Gerald has also held other positions of increasing responsibility including, various line, staff, and management positions in customer operations, accounting, nuclear, government, and regulatory affairs, and finance. Gerald is actively involved in Jefferson and Shelby County communities. He is vice Chairman of Alabama Sports Hall of fame, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Operation New Birmingham and serves on the board of several other business and civic Organizations.

WINNER Tammy Fincher
Tammy Fincher: has been employed with Accenture for 11years. She holds a B.S. in human resources from UAB and an M.B.A in Business with NOVA South Eastern University. Tammy is a member of The Worship Center Christian Church where she is a Servant Leader for the Singles Ministry. An active me of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, inc, Omicron Chapter, she is among the youngest women in the chapters history to ever serve as President, and served from 2006-2009. In the community, she is also a member of NAAAHR (National Association for African Americans in Human Resources) Birmingham Chapter, and a past member of the Leadership Council – Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, Junior League of Birmingham, and Girls, Incorporated Committee of 25. For her outstanding record of service, Tammy was awarded the Arvin Exton Service Award by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity,Inc.
