Many experts have claimed we are in a state of emergency. They claim the ice caps are melting and the sea temperatures have escalated to an overwhelming one degree higher than normal. These advocates along with former Vice President Al Gore contend that we must act now! On the other hand, I'm no expert in this area, but I know there have been many cities in the north and even in the southern areas to experience record cold temperatures this winter. In the nations capital the record was set with over 24 inces of snow in January--a record that took a hundred years to break. Southern Florida got unexpected amount of cold and even snow earlier this year. Record amounts of snow in the United States and what about the earthquakes in Haiti and Chile. Maybe its not about global warming. Perhaps its about the prophetic words of Jesus Christ, who was asked by his disciples what will be the sign of his coming and the end of the age. In Matthew 24:7-8, Christ said these things are just the beginning and not to be alarmed. I contend these are just reminders for us as believers to be ye ready for we do not know when or where. We place alot of emphasis on prosperity, finances, our jobs and the such. Probably too much thought are placed on them. But it is comforting to know God is still in charge and Christ is coming back. Whether He is coming back in our lifetime or not, these are reminders to get our house in order.
