On October 29th, the Jefferson County Alabama Alumni Association will host the premiere of Do Right: The Stallings Standard at the Birmingham Premiere LUX Paramount Theatre on Lakeshore Parkway. This special event will benefit Down Syndrome Alabama and provide scholarships. The documentary highlights Coach Gene Stallings, the 1992 National Championship coach who bridged the gap between legendary University of Alabama coaches Paul “Bear” Bryant and Nick Saban. It also celebrates Stallings’ efforts to raise awareness for individuals with developmental disabilities. Produced by University of Alabama Professors Chandra Clark and Michael Bruce, the film tells an inspiring story of advocacy and a legacy of doing the right thing.
